Receipt AI — what German landlords really need
A modern receipt AI for landlords is more than simple OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Whereas classic OCR merely reads text from an image, a specialised receipt AI understands the structure and meaning of a utility invoice: Where is the amount? Which period is being billed? Which cost type is involved? Which property does the receipt belong to?
Specifically for German landlords, the most common receipts are standardised: heating-service invoices from Techem, ista, Brunata-Metrona and Minol each have a typical layout — the AI identifies the supplier, billing period and amounts with up to 97 % accuracy on standard utility receipts (internal test). Energy suppliers such as British Gas, E.ON, Vattenfall, OVO Energy and the municipal utilities of all major cities are also included in the training dataset.
